22 AWG 6-core RGB+CCT flat ribbon cable – 10 metre roll
A 10 metre roll of 6-core flat ribbon for RGB + tunable white (RGB+CCT) LED strip work. Each conductor is 22 AWG, approximately 0.35 mm². Overall width is 11 mm. The flat form keeps the six cores in order, which helps when you are soldering tails.
This is the thinner companion to our 20 AWG 6-core 10 metre roll (HL-RGBCCT-AWG20-10M). We stock both because the right choice depends on the connector and on the electrical load.
Does not fit the 12 mm 6-pin COB strip-to-wire clip
Our 12 mm 6-pin COB clip-only connector HL-COBRGBTW6-STW-IP00 takes 24 AWG (about 0.20 mm²). 22 AWG is too thick for that housing and will not lock reliably. This roll does not fit that clip. Use 24 AWG 6-core wire with that connector, solder this 22 AWG cable, or use a connector whose listing states 22 AWG.
Voltage drop
22 AWG has less copper than 20 AWG, so resistance is higher. It is suitable for short runs and moderate loads. For longer feeds or higher wattage, the 20 AWG roll is usually the sounder electrical choice, provided the connector can accept it. Work out the drop for the length and wattage you are actually installing. Do not treat a 10 metre roll as a 10 metre feeder if the load does not support it.
On RGB+CCT tape the common core carries the combined current of all channels when they are on together. Size the cable against that combined current, not against a single colour wire.
