Use one roll length throughout a job. We grade the LEDs for colour and brightness (binning) and check every batch, but 5 m and 10 m reels can still come from different production lots. For the closest match from run to run, stay with either 5 m or 10 m — do not mix the two lengths on the same installation.

16 W/m is the total for all five channels together. Red, green, blue, warm white and cool white share that 16 watts. At 24 V the common anode — the black positive — carries 0.67 A per metre (16 W ÷ 24 V). Each colour return carries its own share, about 3.2 W and 0.13 A per metre.
On this 5 metre roll, full load is 80 W, so the black wire carries about 3.3 A when the whole reel is on. A 3.5 A common pin is then about the whole reel, with nothing to spare. A 5 A common pin covers this reel.
Connector length is set by that common pin. Allowed metres are the contact rating divided by 0.67 A per metre. A contact rated 3.5 A feeds about 5 metres of this strip. A contact rated 5 A feeds about 7.5 metres. Dividing the same contact rating by the 0.13 A of one colour wire suggests a much longer run. That figure belongs to a colour contact. A long feed is sized on the same black wire. The conductor that continues the common anode has to carry the current of the length on that feed, over the whole cable run, with an acceptable voltage drop. The colour cores carry only their own share. The soldered tails on the reel are the joint at the strip. They are not a long home-run.
