Why Hi-Line Lighting Takes a Different Approach to Warranties

When it comes to warranties in the lighting industry, not all promises are created equal. You may have seen other suppliers advertising 5 years or even 10 years as standard, without ever asking about how their products will be installed, who will be installing them, or whether the design has been carried out correctly. At Hi-Line, we take a very different approach.

A Standard That Means Something

Every Hi-Line product comes with a 3-year standard warranty. For some, this may raise the question: “Why not 5 years like others?”

The answer is simple: our warranties are real. They are based on how our products actually perform in the field, under correct conditions, and when installed as they should be. A warranty has value only if it is backed by both quality design and professional installation.

Extended Cover: A Professional Process

We do offer Extended Warranty, but never as a blanket promise. Any coverage beyond 3 years is valid only with an official Hi-Line certificate. To issue that certificate, our engineering team must review all aspects of the project:

  • Technical design and load calculations

  • Installation details, environment, and operating conditions

  • Installer credentials and, where relevant, company approval

If these factors meet our standards, we can offer 5 years of cover. In carefully selected projects, where everything is fully verified, warranty cover may be extended up to 7 years.

This is not just paperwork. It is a professional process that ensures the products are used within their designed capabilities, which is the only way to guarantee reliability over time.

Why We Refuse "Marketing Warranties"

Some companies offer long warranties without ever asking about installation or project design. Many do not even design their own products, yet hand out 5-year or 10-year promises with no engineering behind them. This may sound attractive on paper, but in reality, products fail if they are misused, and those companies rarely take responsibility when things go wrong.

Hi-Line refuses to play that game. We design and engineer our products to a high standard, and we know exactly how they should be installed. If used correctly, they will last. If they are installed incorrectly, no warranty in the world can change the physics of overheating, overloading, or poor cabling. That is why we take installation details seriously before granting extended cover.

Our Position

Hi-Line’s warranty structure is not about marketing, it is about trust, responsibility, and professionalism. We design high-quality products, and when they are installed the right way, we stand behind them. Our standard warranty is 3 years, because that is a guarantee we can honour without conditions. Our extended warranties go beyond that only after review, certification, and approval.

This approach sets Hi-Line apart: we do not hand out long warranties as slogans, we back our products with warranties that mean something.
