24V DMX512 RGBW LED Strip 5 Metre - 12mm - 3000K Warm White - Direct DMX Control
Professional 5-metre 24V RGBW LED strip with true direct DMX512 control. 12 mm wide, IP20, 3000K warm white + full RGB. Ten pixels per metre (100 mm each); not per-chip control. Five labelled terminals for power and differential DMX data.
Bring professional-grade lighting control to any installation with this 5-metre 24V RGBW LED strip designed for direct DMX512 operation. Unlike conventional addressable strips that require external pixel controllers, this tape accepts a standard DMX512 signal straight onto the strip itself, giving you reliable, long-distance control without intermediate decoder boxes.
The strip combines full RGB colour mixing with a dedicated 3000K warm-white channel, delivering both vibrant colour effects and high-quality white light from a single product. Measuring only 12 mm wide and rated IP20, it is ideal for indoor architectural coves, stage sets, exhibition stands, retail displays and any project that demands precise DMX control.
Why This Strip Has Five Connection Points
Many customers ask why the strip arrives with five wires instead of the usual three or four. The answer is simple and practical:
- Two wires are dedicated to constant 24 V power (positive and negative).
- Two wires carry the differential DMX512 data signal (Data+ / plus and Data- / minus).
- The fifth wire is reserved for address programming and signal daisy-chaining.
This five-contact layout is what allows the strip to accept a true DMX512 signal directly, without an external decoder for every section.
Exact Terminal Mapping
Looking at the end of the strip you will see the copper pads clearly silk-screened:
| Terminal on PCB | Wire Colour (factory lead) | Function |
|---|---|---|
| 24V | Black | +24 V DC power |
| GND | White | Power ground / common |
| A | Red | DMX Data + (plus) |
| B | Blue | DMX Data - (minus) |
| Write / Data | Green | Address programming and cascade |
How to Connect a Standard DMX512 Controller
- Connect your 24 V power supply positive to the 24V pad (Black wire).
- Connect power supply negative / ground to the GND pad (White wire).
- From your DMX source (console, processor or XLR cable):
- DMX Data + (plus) / XLR pin 3 -> A terminal (Red wire)
- DMX Data - (minus) / XLR pin 2 -> B terminal (Blue wire)
- The Green wire is used only when you need to write a new starting DMX address or when daisy-chaining multiple reels. Under normal operation it can remain unconnected or be tied according to your controller instructions.
Because the data path is differential (A/B), the strip maintains excellent signal integrity over long cable runs - a key advantage over single-wire addressable protocols.
How control works
This is pixel tape at 100 mm resolution, not per-chip control.
- Each 100 mm cut (6 LEDs) is one pixel.
- Each pixel uses 4 DMX channels: Red, Green, Blue and Warm White.
- 10 pixels per metre (40 channels per metre).
- A 5 m reel is 50 pixels / 200 DMX channels.
- The six LEDs in a 100 mm section always show the same colour. Individual LED chips cannot be controlled separately.
On a continuous reel you write the start address of the first pixel (factory default 001). The remaining 100 mm sections take the next addresses in sequence (001, 005, 009, and so on). You do not set a separate start address on every 100 mm while they stay as one reel. If you cut the tape into separate lengths, each length can be given its own start address with a DMX address writer on the green Write wire.
Custom DMX Start Addressing (Paid Service)
Reels are supplied with a factory start address of DMX 001 unless otherwise arranged. If you need specific DMX start addresses and you do not have the knowledge, tools or customised controllers to program addresses yourself, please contact us.
We can often arrange pre-programming of start addresses as a paid service. This depends on our availability and your order quantity - it is not something that can be assumed for next-day despatch. Please contact us for a quote and include all required DMX start addresses with your enquiry so we can confirm feasibility, cost and lead time before you order.

Installation Notes
Always power the strip from a quality constant-voltage 24 V supply sized for the full load. Inject power at both ends on longer runs. Use proper DMX-rated cable (110 ohm characteristic impedance) between the controller and the first strip. The differential A/B connection is far more tolerant of electrical noise than single-ended data lines, making this strip particularly suitable for professional environments.
This product is supplied on a plastic reel with factory-fitted connectors at both ends, ready for immediate installation or further customisation.
