This is a high-density free-cut COB LED strip, with 528 LEDs per metre. The continuous phosphor layer lets you cut the strip at virtually any point along its length without dark spots or visible gaps, so the line of light stays even.

Wattage. 11.5 W per metre is the most this strip can draw. We measure a short length at a full 24 V, before any voltage drop, and that is the figure for the driver and the cable. At 24 V it is 0.48 A per metre. A full reel, power from one end only, or cable that is too thin will draw less than 11.5 W per metre, and the far end will be dimmer. It will not draw more than this. Watts are not a brightness ranking between different strips: a high-efficiency strip can give more light from fewer watts. This COB is a standard-efficiency strip, so against another standard COB of the same type the higher wattage is the brighter one.
A full reel of this strip measures below 11.5 W per metre. The figure on the listing is the short-length maximum. How we state watts per metre.
Cut: anywhere along the reel (continuous COB).
Reel length: 5 metres. This 2700K colour is sold as a 5 m reel. The same free-cut strip is also sold in 3000K, 4000K and 6000K, and those three colours are available in 5 m, 10 m and 20 m. The 3000K 5 m reel is HL-COB-FC-720-24V-WW-5M.

Note: For thermal performance and life, mount the strip on a thermally conductive surface such as aluminium flat bar, 2 mm or 3 mm thick. Aluminium flat bar is widely available from builders' merchants.
Matching 8 mm connectors (2-pin, single colour)
This strip is 8 mm wide and 2-wire, single colour. Use only the 8 mm COB connectors in Related products. Do not use 10 mm or RGB connectors.
- Strip to power: pre-wired 15 cm tail HL-COB8-SP-IP00, screw terminal HL-SMDCOBT2-SW-8MM, or the universal kit HL-COB-CON-UNI-8 (also used for mid-run power injection).
- Strip to strip, straight: seamless joint HL-COB8-SS-IP00, or screw joint HL-COBSMD-A8-IP00.
- Strip to strip with a short cable: 150 mm bridge HL-COB8-SSW-IP00.
- Corners: L clip HL-COB8-L2-IP00, or L/T screw block HL-LT2-COB8-IP00.
These connectors are indoor (IP00/IP20), the same environment as this IP20 strip.
