RGB COB LED Strip 24V 576 LEDs/m 12W/m 10mm 10m Roll

The watts per metre on this page are the total for every channel together. The common positive, usually the black wire, carries that whole current. Each colour return carries only its own share. Connector length, and the cross-section of any long feed, are set by the common wire. This 10 m reel is the Value Series RGB COB. It is 24 V, 10 mm wide, with 576 LEDs per metre, for indoor colour where the price matters more than the highest LED count. The higher-density reel is the 5 m HL-COB-RGB-840-24V-IP00, at 840 LEDs per metre and 15 W per metre. These are different strips. Do not join them in the same run.

The light is a continuous COB line. Red, green and blue share one positive. On this reel that positive is the pad marked +24V. The colour returns are marked G-, R- and B-. It is IP00, for indoor use, with adhesive on the back. It is not waterproof, and it does not include a mains plug or a driver.

Cut only on the marked copper pads. The price is for the complete 10 m reel.

A 3-channel constant-voltage RGB controller, 12–24 V, runs this reel. It is not a pixel strip, and an RGBW controller is the wrong type.

Wattage. 12 W per metre is the most this strip can draw. We measure a short length at a full 24 V, before any voltage drop, and that is the figure for the driver and the cable. At 24 V it is 0.50 A per metre. A full reel, power from one end only, or cable that is too thin will draw less than 12 W per metre, and the far end will be dimmer. It will not draw more than this. Feeding this 10 m reel at both ends still leaves a drop along the board, so the reel can sit below 12 W per metre. Power injected at several points along the run is what lets the strip reach that 12 W per metre figure.
