What Are Constant Current (Long-Run) LED Strips?
When installing LED strips over long distances, one of the biggest challenges is maintaining consistent brightness from start to finish. Standard constant voltage strips are prone to voltage drop, which causes visible dimming towards the far end of a run.
To overcome this, we have developed a special range of Constant Current (Long-Run) LED Strips. These use integrated IC technology to regulate the current in each section of the strip, ensuring uniform light output across the entire length.
How They Work
Although they use constant current regulation, these strips are still powered by standard 24V constant voltage LED drivers and work with all usual LED controllers and dimmers.
The advantage is simple: you can power extended lengths — often up to 10 metres from a single tail — with no visible drop in brightness. Selected models can run in rolls of up to 30 metres, making them ideal for larger projects.
