The WG-Z Tuya Zigbee Gateway is required if you're using Zigbee controllers like WZ5 or V5-L(WZ) and want to control them via the Tuya Smart Life app, Alexa, or Google Assistant. These controllers do not connect to WiFi directly. The WG-Z acts as a bridge between your Zigbee devices and your WiFi network. Once connected, you can enjoy full app and voice control. If you only plan to use Hi-Line RF remotes or touch panels, the WG-Z is not needed. For WiFi-based control without a hub, check the WT5 or V5-L(WT) models. The WG-Z supports up to 128 Zigbee devices and is perfect for expanding smart lighting across one or more zones.
