DA-ML(WT) Wi-Fi and RF DALI Dimmer
Mains-powered DALI dimmer with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, a push input and 2.4 GHz radio. One address, 16 V output up to 150 mA, so this unit can be the bus supply. Do not add a second bus supply on the same line. Observe the polarity of DA+ and DA−.
The DA-ML(WT) is a mains DALI master. Wi-Fi, a retractive push switch and 2.4 GHz radio all command one DALI address. The output is a DALI signal at 16 V DC, up to 150 mA. The manual states that the unit can be used as the bus supply. When it is the supply, it is the only supply on that line. Do not parallel it with HL-DA-PS or any other bus supply.
It does not drive the LED current. A DALI driver on DA+ and DA− drives the lamp from the driver's own mains or DC input.
Mains and the bus
- Input 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, input current 0.1 A. Connect L and N.
- Output 16 V DC, maximum 150 mA. The drawing states that DA+ and DA− are polarity-sensitive. Do not swap them.
- Push input P, fed from L. A short press turns the light on or off. A long press of 1 to 6 s dims. The next long press dims the other way.
What it commands
One address. The manual lists DT6 dimming, DT8 tunable white, DT8 RGB, DT8 RGBW and DT7 switching, to IEC 62386-101, 102, 207, 208 and 209. Hold SET for 2 s to step the light type. The indicator colour is the type:
- Single colour, white
- Tunable white, yellow
- RGB, red
- RGBW, green
- RGB and tunable white, blue
- Switch, cyan
For RGB and RGBW the manual lists ten modes: RGB jump, RGB smooth, six-colour jump, six-colour smooth, yellow-cyan-purple smooth, and fade in and out on RGB, red, green, blue and white. For RGB and tunable white the fifth mode is a colour-temperature fade instead of the yellow-cyan-purple fade. Pair a handset only to the same light type.
Address
The rotary switches use address = X × 10 + Y.
- Unicast 0 to 63: X is 0 to 6, Y is 0 to 9.
- Group 0 to 15: X is 7, Y is 0 to F. Code 75 is group 5.
- Broadcast: X is 9, Y is 0 to F, codes 90 to 9F.
Radio and the phone
Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only. Radio range is stated as 30 m in open air. One system drawing also shows 15 m from the phone to the router. That 15 m is the Wi-Fi path, not a second rating of the handset. Walls reduce both. Measure on site.
To open pairing, press Match/Set twice, or switch the mains off and on five times, or hold Match/Set for 5 s. The indicator flashes. The app then offers on/off, level, colour, colour temperature, scenes, a timer, schedules and a music input. Bluetooth on the phone works only after Wi-Fi has been configured.
Handset pairing matches the converter: a short press of Match/Set, then the handset key at once, or two mains restarts and then three presses. Hold Match/Set for 10 s, or give five presses after two restarts, to delete every handset.
Housing
- Stated size 156 × 48 × 22 mm. The body drawing is marked 140 mm, 38 mm and 20.5 mm. Use 156 × 48 × 22 mm for the cut-out and the enclosure. Weight 0.085 kg.
- Terminals 0.5 to 2.0 mm². Strip length 6 to 8 mm, as marked on the unit.
- IP20, for indoor use. Ambient −20 °C to +55 °C. Maximum case temperature +75 °C.
Standards and warranty
The manual lists EN 60669-1, EN 60669-2, EN IEC 55015, EN IEC 61547, ETSI EN 301 489-1/-3/-17, ETSI EN 300 440 and ETSI EN 300 328, and marks the unit CE, RoHS and SELV. Warranty 5 years. This is the Wi-Fi model. It is not the radio-only model and it is not the Zigbee model.
