S1-S 2A AC Inrush Suppressor for Triac LED 100-240V

HL-S1-S is a 100–240 V AC inrush suppressor for triac-dimmed LED loads. Max 2 A / 480 W. Wire it in series with the dimmer (L in / L out) so GU10s and small drivers do not trip the breaker. Not a dimmer. The 8 A version is HL-S1-SX.

HL-S1-S — 2 A AC inrush suppressor for triac-dimmed LED

A small NTC module in series with the switched live. At switch-on it is a high resistance, so the inrush from GU10s or compact triac-dimmable drivers is knocked down. As it warms, resistance falls and it barely wastes power. 100–240 V AC, max 2 A / 480 W. It is not a dimmer and it does not replace a surge protector on the whole board.

The 8 A / 800–1920 W sister is HL-S1-SX.

Why installers buy it

  • Stops nuisance breaker trips on a handful of GU10s or one small driver behind S1-F / S1-B.
  • Flying L in / L out leads. Fit in front of or after the triac dimmer.
  • IP20, about 76 × 24 × 9 mm, 21 g.

What you are wiring

  • L in from the dimmer (or supply), L out to the dimmable load
  • Neutral does not go through the module
