WZS4 Zigbee 3.0 RGBW Constant-Voltage LED Controller | HL-WZS4
HL-WZS4 is a pure ZigBee 3.0 constant-voltage controller for RGBW LED strip only (RGB plus a dedicated white). It is for installers who already run a ZigBee mesh (Tuya gateway or Philips Hue bridge). It will not pair with Hi-Line 2.4 GHz RF remotes or wall panels. If you want app plus RF remotes without a ZigBee hub, use HL-V5-L(WT) instead — see Related products.
HL-WZS4 — ZigBee 3.0 RGBW constant-voltage controller
This listing is the four-channel RGBW model in the Hi-Line WZS ZigBee series. Use it on a common-anode RGBW LED strip (five wires: +V, R, G, B, W) at 12 V or 24 V DC. The extra white channel is a real white LED, not a mix of RGB — that is why this is not the same product as HL-WZS3. It is not a WiFi box, and it is not an RF receiver. The phone talks to it only through a ZigBee 3.0 gateway (Tuya / Smart Life, or a Philips Hue bridge). Hi-Line 2.4 GHz RF remotes and glass wall panels will not pair to this unit.
Buy this when
- The project is already a ZigBee mesh and the tape is true RGB + dedicated white (five cores).
- You want colour wash and a proper white for task / evening light on the same controller, without a separate dimmer for the white.
- You do not need a handheld RF remote on this circuit.
Why ZigBee rather than WiFi
ZigBee keeps RGBW lighting off the customer’s WiFi and lets controllers repeat for each other (up to 15 hops). The trade-off is the hub. Without HL-WG-Z or a Hue bridge there is no app and no voice. The popular RF remotes (R8, R8-1, RS4, RS10, T14) are 2.4 GHz, not ZigBee — they will not bind to WZS4. If the client wants a remote on the coffee table and no extra gateway, choose a WT controller from Related products.
How people control it
- Tuya Smart / Smart Life via a Tuya ZigBee gateway: press RESET/NET five times (or five power cycles) until the strip blinks, then add the device. In the app it appears as ZBS-RGBW.
- Philips Hue via a Hue bridge.
- Alexa / Google once Tuya or Hue is linked.
- Optional ZigBee scene panels on the same gateway — not RF glass panels.
The app gives a colour wheel plus a separate white brightness, eight colour shortcuts, eight scenes, timers, schedule, sleep / wake, biorhythm and music sync.
Wiring and load — read this before you size the driver
- Input: 12–24 V DC constant voltage only. Not 36 V.
- Output: 4 channels × 3 A (common anode). Total input budget 12.5 A.
- Power: 4 × 36 W at 12 V or 4 × 72 W at 24 V (144 W / 288 W total). Full RGBW at 100 % is four channels at once — size the driver for the worst case, not one colour.
- Five-core RGBW cable; polarity and common +V must match the strip. Indoor IP20. DC barrel jack and screw terminals.

Send us the strip SKU or a photo of the wires if you are not sure RGBW versus RGB+CCT. The extra white cores look similar on the reel; the controller will not forgive the wrong one.
