General Guidance – LED Strips, Drivers, Dimmers & Sensors

This guide provides examples of how to select and combine LED strips, drivers, dimmers, and sensors for common applications such as niches, coving, and wardrobes. It is intended as free product guidance only. All installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with regulations.

Shower Niches

LED Strips

• HL-COB528WW3K-R90-IP68 (5m, 14.4 W/m, 24V)

• HL-COB528WW3K-R90-IP68-10M (10m, 14.4 W/m, 24V)

Installation Notes

• One straight line per niche is typically sufficient.

• Install in a routed channel in tile or material, with provision for future replacement.

• Recommended: fix onto a flat aluminium bar (10 mm × 2–3 mm, standard building material). The red 3M adhesive bonds strongly to aluminium, ensuring a straight fit and helping with heat dissipation.

Drivers & Loading

• HL-PC10VT60W-24V-5Y (IP40, mains dimmable).

• One 60W driver can power a maximum of approx. 3.5m of this strip.

• Must be installed in a dry, ventilated area. Only the 24V side should enter wet zones.

Dimming Options

• HL-TS-K(WT): Smart rotary wall dimmer with WiFi/Tuya app control. Requires neutral wire.

• HL-TAG-DIM-W: Glass rotary dimmer, works without neutral.

• HL-T1-K-W: Low-voltage dimmer (24V in/out, connected after driver). Wiring method is different from typical mains dimmers.

⚠️ All dimmers must be installed in dry areas. Even low-voltage options should not be operated with wet hands.

Coving

Recommendation

• Use the same single-colour warm white COB strips as niches for simplicity.

Alternative: RGBW Option

• IP68 RGBW strips are available in 5m and 10m rolls.

• Supplied with factory-soldered tails on both ends.

• If cut, reseal using correct end caps and electrical-grade silicone (see “Related Products” tab).

• Requires a different control system from single-colour strips.

1. High CRI SMD Strip

   • HL-LS2110-180CW5K-IP00-24V (5000K, CRI >90, 14.4 W/m).

2. COB Dotless Strip (528 LEDs/m)

   • HL-COB528NW-R90-IP00 (5m, 14.4 W/m, 4000K CRI90).

   • HL-COB528NW-R90-IP00-10M (10m, 14.4 W/m, 4000K CRI90).

3. COB 336 LEDs/m (Low Power)

   • Multiple CCT options, 8 W/m, 24V.

   • Driver loading: 30W up to 3m, 60W up to 6m, 100W up to 10m.

4. Constant Current High-Efficiency Strip

   • HL-CC2835HA-60CW5K-IP00-24V-20M (5000K, CRI90, IC design).

   • Driver loading: 30W up to 5m, 60W up to 10m, 100W up to 17m.

Profiles for Protection

• HL-ALU002-2M (aluminium profile).

• HL-2010-10M (silicone profile, 10m roll).

Sensors & Cabinet Drivers

• HL-CB-1DSR1 (single door).

• HL-CB-2DSR2 (double door).

• Cabinet drivers (30W, 60W, 100W available).

Driver Loading Guidance

• SMD/COB (14.4 W/m): 30W up to 2m, 60W up to 3.5m, 100W up to 6m.

• COB 336 (8 W/m): 30W up to 3m, 60W up to 6m, 100W up to 10m.

• Constant current IC: 30W up to 5m, 60W up to 10m, 100W up to 17m.

Advanced Options

• Cabinet drivers with Tuya app (WiFi) or Zigbee integration are available for smart control.

Important Notes

• HL-PC10VT60W-24V-5Y drivers are IP40 and must be installed in dry areas only.

• Only the 24V low-voltage side should enter wet zones.

• Cabinet drivers are for wardrobes/sensors (non-dimmable).

• All installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
