Cool White LED Strip 5-meter roll | 24V | 14.4W/m | IP54/65 | SMD2835
High-output neutral white LED strip (4000K) with 14.4W/m power, 60 LEDs/m and IP65 silicone sleeve. Supplied as a 5 metre roll with 15 cm cable on both ends. Ideal for signage, coving and commercial lighting. Cuttable every 10 cm and fully dimmable with compatible PWM dimmer. Aluminium surface recommended for cooling. Not compatible with IP65 clip connectors due to sleeve type; solder or use IP00 connectors instead.
Commercial-Grade LED Strip – Neutral White 4000K – High Performance
Power Consumption: 14.4W/m
Voltage: 24V DC
Length: 5 metre roll
LED Type: SMD2835
LED Density: 60 LEDs/m
Ingress Protection: IP65 (splashproof)
Connection Cable: 2-core cable, 15 cm on both ends of the strip
This LED strip is engineered for professional and commercial use and offers exceptionally high brightness. Fitted with high-quality SMD2835 chips, it delivers a luminous output of 1320 to 1440 lumens per metre. Just 1.2 metres of this strip provides the same or greater brightness than a 4 ft fluorescent tube.
Colour Rendering: Excellent light quality with a CRI above 80, ensuring clear, natural illumination for all visual applications.
Cuttable Design: The strip can be cut every 6 LEDs (10 cm). Strip width is 8 mm.
Typical Applications: Ideal for signage, cove lighting or any area requiring strong illumination.
Cooling and Installation Recommendations
To support thermal management and extend the lifespan of the LED strip, installation onto an aluminium surface is recommended where possible. This does not have to be a full LED profile. Even a simple flat aluminium bar is effective. While not essential for operation, using aluminium for heat dissipation improves long-term performance, especially in high-output setups.
The strip is pre-fitted with genuine 3M adhesive backing, identified by a red protective film. This ensures excellent adhesion to clean, flat surfaces.
IP65 Silicone Sleeve – Protection Method and Important Notes
This LED strip features a clear IP65-rated silicone sleeve as a protective covering. IP65 refers to the strip’s resistance against dust and water spray from any direction. The silicone sleeve provides an extra layer of defence, helping to protect the strip from moisture, dust and environmental factors.
The sleeve is made from flexible, heat-resistant silicone and is precision-moulded to fit around the LED strip. It prevents water from penetrating the strip and also assists with thermal dissipation, which supports long-term reliability and performance. The added thermal conductivity of silicone helps remove heat away from the LED chips, which contributes to an extended product lifespan.
Both silicone and polyurethane (PU) can be used as coating options for IP65-rated LED strips. However, silicone is often considered the superior choice due to its high flexibility, stronger water resistance, better heat transfer and overall durability in demanding environments.
It is important to note that standard IP65 strip connectors are not compatible with this type of silicone sleeve. The concave shape of those connectors does not provide enough grip, meaning the connection will not hold securely. As such, we recommend either soldering connections or using IP00 connectors as an alternative. Suitable options include:
-
8 mm Strip-to-Wire Connector (IP00)
-
8 mm Strip-to-Strip Connector (IP00)
Connection and Usage
Each 5 metre roll includes a 15 cm cable on both ends, allowing the strip to be cut into two parts, for example 3 metres and 2 metres, and both can be used without any soldering.
Never connect more than 5 metres in series. Longer runs increase the current flowing through the strip, which can damage the PCB and cause strip failure. For lengths over 5 metres, each section should be connected directly to the LED driver or controller using a separate 2-core cable.
Although soldering is strongly recommended for a reliable and permanent connection, Hi-Line also offers solderless connectors as a practical alternative where soldering is not feasible.
Dimmable Functionality
All Hi-Line LED strips are PWM dimmable. Please ensure you use a compatible PWM dimmer or controller to regulate brightness correctly without affecting voltage.
What’s Included and Pricing
The stated price is for 1 x 5 metre roll in neutral white (4000K), fitted with 300 SMD2835 LEDs. The strip is rated IP54/IP65 (splashproof) and operates at 24V DC.
Choosing the Right LED Driver – Maximum Supported Strip Lengths
The maximum LED strip length depends on the power rating of the driver being used. To allow for voltage drop and the natural efficiency loss in cabling and drivers, we recommend working with an 80% performance margin.
A table with suitable driver options and their corresponding maximum strip lengths is available further down the product page.
