V1-KS Rotary + RF LED Strip Dimmer 12-48V
The Hi-Line HL-V1-KS is a 12–48 V DC rotary + RF dimmer for single-colour LED strip. The knob is on the unit, so the installer can set the level without a remote; optional 2.4 GHz remotes still pair if the client wants handheld control. 8 A at 12/24 V (96/192 W), 6 A at 36/48 V. PWM frequency and dimming curve are selectable. See the attached PDF for DIP settings and wiring.
HL-V1-KS — rotary + RF LED-strip dimmer
This is a 12–48 V DC, one-channel constant-voltage dimmer for single-colour LED strip. The rotary knob is on the box, so you can park brightness at the installation without leaving a remote on site. Pair a Hi-Line 2.4 GHz single-colour remote when the client wants handheld or multi-zone control as well.
Why installers buy it
- Local control that does not depend on a phone, Wi-Fi or a lost handset. Turn the knob: off at the stop, then 1–100 %.
- Still part of the same 2.4 GHz family as HL-V1-L / HL-R6 / HL-R11, so you can add a remote or a second dimmer later.
- Selectable PWM (500 Hz / 2 kHz / 8 kHz / 16 kHz) when the job is in front of a camera — higher PWM reduces visible flicker on video, at the cost of some output current (see the table in the PDF).
- Logarithmic or linear dimming curve. Logarithmic usually feels better on LED tape; linear is useful when you are matching another control system.
- Over-heat, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection with automatic recovery.
How people control it
- Rotary knob on the unit: off / brightness. This is the day-to-day control on cupboard, pelmet and joinery jobs.
- Hi-Line 2.4 GHz RF remotes (single-colour models): short-press Match, then the remote on/off or zone key. About 30 m in open space. Up to ten remotes.
A 3 s on/off fade can be set from the Match key (PDF). Hold Match 10 s to restore factory defaults.
Electrical — read before you order
- Input / output: 12–48 V DC, constant voltage, one channel
- Input current 8.5 A
- Output: 8 A @ 12–24 V (96 W / 192 W), 6 A @ 36–48 V (216 W / 288 W)
- At 16 kHz PWM the current falls (4 A @ 12–24 V, 3 A @ 36–48 V) — size the strip to the frequency you will actually use
- The constant-voltage driver should be at least 1.2 times the strip wattage, or the light can shimmer at full load
- Terminals: power +/− in, LED +/− out. Conductor 0.5–1.5 mm² (1 mm² is comfortable for 10 A). Tighten fully — loose terminals overheat at full current
- IP20, indoor, dry location. Ta −20 °C to +55 °C, Tc max 85 °C
- Size about 70 × 60 × 40 mm, about 59 g
- Keep ≥20 cm from the driver and from other RF units so the remote range does not collapse
What to put with it
Open Related products for Hi-Line single-colour remotes and the higher-current RF dimmers if this 8 A box is too small. An RGB remote does not pair with this dimmer.
The user manual PDF is on the Attachments tab (factory pages, Hi-Line website on each page). DIP settings for PWM and curve, plus the wiring diagram, are there.
Technical summary
- Functions: rotary knob + 2.4 GHz RF, 1 channel CV PWM
- Dimming: 256 levels, 0–100 %, logarithmic or linear
- PWM: 500 Hz / 2 kHz / 8 kHz / 16 kHz
- Protection: reverse, short, over-heat (auto recovery)
- Marks: CE, RoHS, FCC
- Warranty: 5 years
Must be installed by a qualified person. Confirm strip voltage and wattage before first power-up. Reverse polarity is protected, but a short on a undersized driver will still trip the supply.
