HL-WZ-SPI is a 5–24 V SPI pixel controller for addressable RGB and RGBW tape. ZigBee app control through a Tuya ZigBee gateway, optional 2.4 GHz RF remotes, two SPI outputs, up to 1000 pixels. Not the WiFi HL-WT-SPI, and not a PWM RGBW dimmer.

HL-WZ-SPI — ZigBee + RF SPI pixel controller, 5–24 V

Use this when the tape is addressable (pixel) RGB or RGBW with a data line (and clock if the chip needs it), not ordinary analogue RGBW. Two SPI outputs, 5–24 V, up to 1000 pixels. Control is ZigBee through a Tuya ZigBee gateway and the Tuya / Smart Life app, with Alexa and Google Assistant if the gateway is set up. Optional 2.4 GHz RGB remotes (for example R9) after you match them.

It is the ZigBee sister of HL-WT-SPI (that one is WiFi). It is not a 5-in-1 PWM controller for non-pixel tape.

Why installers buy it

  • Chip type and colour order are set in the app (WS2811 / WS2812 family and many others — the PDF lists about 49 types).
  • Two SPI ports so two runs can share the same show. 8 A class input, IP20, about 114 × 38 × 20 mm.
  • Scenes, segment painting and music modes live in the app. RF remotes are optional, not required.

What you are wiring

  • Power in + / −, 5–24 V DC, same voltage as the pixel tape
  • SPI: V+, GND, DATA, CLK (leave CLK unused on two-wire chips such as WS2812)
  • Match key for RF remotes and ZigBee join
